Alberta Child Dental Benefits
All children deserve an excellent dental service and a beautiful healthy smile. Good teeth go hand in hand with good health. They help your child's speech development, self esteem and confidence.
But regular dental services may be out of reach to some of the Albertan families who can't afford it. To make sure every child can get affordable dental checkup, Alberta government provides a child health benefit plan to those who make limited incomes.

If you are an Alberta resident with limited income, you may be eligible to apply for Alberta Child Health Benefits (ACHB).

What dental services are paid by Alberta Child Health Benefits (ACHB)?

  • Dental exams
  • Teeth cleaning
  • X-rays
  • Fillings and extractions

Who qualifies for the dental benefits provided by ACHB?

  • Children up to 18 of age
  • Children up to 20 of age who still live with parents and attending high school (up to grade 12)
  • A  family with children has income as little as $26,023 can apply for Alberta Child Health Benefits. With higher income, see table on the right.
